Unsung Heroes
A house caught up in flames today,
With a helpless child inside
A man rushed in to save the day,
And they both came out alive
These are the unsung heroes,
Risk their life for only one
These are the unsung heroes,
And this is their song
A son watches his father play ball,
Inspiring his life to a path
A dream is what the boy saw,
Following his footsteps, you do the math
These are the unsung heroes,
Risk their life for only one
These are the unsung heroes,
And this is their song
A soldier in battle cries out “medic!”
Holding his wound with his hand
A doc runs to his aid saying “don’t panic”
If he failed he’d be damned
These are the unsung heroes,
Risk their life for only one
These are the unsung heroes,
And this is their song
A day of glory, a moment of fame
Honor the bravery, remember their name
Ordinary people, like me and you
Loved ones at home, they have family too

Very well written poem Andrew. I like it. It shows ordinary people can be HEROES too, than the series that is on T.V.
