The Definition Of My Single Tear
Eyes the most beautiful deep green,
a perfect shape
that others cannot compare to.
Encircled by a light and fading blue
that glistens when you laugh.
I am completely in love with your smile.
Your lips pink, and so soft,
I cannot bear it.
Dark hair surrounds your sweet face.
You are smiling as you lean
up against your white truck.
Just the faintest grin.
I feel drawn to you somehow.
And I don’t know how you are doing it,
but I feel myself moving toward you.
I cannot stop myself,
but then again…
I really don’t want to.
When I get close enough,
your arms wrap themselves around me
and you pull me closer still.
I rest my weary head, into your comforting chest,
and as you run your fingers through my hair
against my back,
I reach my yearning arms around you
and hold you ever so tight.
Everything around us simply falls away
as I lift my head up to look
into your seemingly intimate eyes.
And I want to kiss you.
Right now,
in this moment.
But my conscious mind opposes
what my sorrowful heart knows is right.
So instead I rest my head, once again,
into your welcoming arms.
And then a tear falls from my eye.
Just a single tear,
because I know I cannot have you.
Not ever.

Its our internal lives that get in the way of the external. It is beautiful to see you have found a way to carve something joyful out of something so painful.
Ooh, beautiful!!
