"What Happened?"

Do you know what it's like
When it's so wrong but it feels so right
When you would ride a bike for an hour
Despite weather or time of night
Even though the only way you could hurt them
Is by holding their hand too tight
Still they find a way to swim through your vain
and you find yourself just drenched by the rain
Waiting for a phone call that never came
You thought they were different
but it was all just the same
You thought you were out of trouble
and you could play through the pain
but you realize your just seeing double
and all you think about is the other persons name
How they hurt you so plain
How everything was good but then it all went to shame
Then you start to ask what happened
and it all goes away
It slips through your grip like a rubber day by day
Until you hear the voice of a recording too many times too late
and you find you haven't ate
All you can think about is what went wrong
and how much they changed
Then it dawns on you, their favorite song
and they are in your head again, and it all goes back to that one question
What Went Wrong?
and until you find the answer
You can't turn off the song
In your head constantly
