Evan and Hell...(part 2 of the story)

He stood at the dismay gates one night
Full of Faith without any fright
The gates creaked open and fire spewed out
Evan was hesistant for a moment throughout
Slowing he entered with flames all about
Demons and creatures as one all did shout
"Go back to Earth, you pathetic old man
Begone from this fiery evil vile land"
But either Evan was brave or lacked total sense
For venture forward he did through flames quite dense
Finally arriving at a throne room so dank
The air emitting a terrible stank
A creature as regal with horns and a grin
Opened his clawed hands and beckoned him in
Without a moment to pause and relax
Evan knew now that this was indeed a task
His purpose in meeting the Lord of all Hell
Was to persuade him to remain here and dwell
To leave mortal man alone and at peace
To quit stealing souls, to forever cease
Well, ole Satan was cunning and devised a dark plot
To capture the soul of dear Evan for he had it not
So creating a puzzle which had no solution
He presented it to Evan for some resolution
Evan, so cunning turned the tables around
And sent Satan spinning right into the ground
But was the promise he made Satan say
Ever honored or valued to this very day?
I'm sorry to say that the pact was thus broken
Satan's promises or nothing more than a sad token
Still Evan will fight and forever stand true
Keeping at bay Satan for both me and for you
