Snowflakes on My Tongue
The joy I recall as a child
Running free and running wild
In the brisk and wintery day
Lost in all the carefree play
And having snow come softly down
Covering up the cold, cold ground
Of catching snowflakes on my tongue
A silly thing, but so much fun
Now I am older and the joy is gone
My winter days are spent alone
Still I recall the fun I had
Always laughing, rarely sad
So as a special treat this year
When winter comes and the flakes appear
I'll run outside and enjoy the fun
Of those silly snowflakes on my tongue
