Upon My Knees
The anguish and the heartache feel so real
To my inner senses I openly do appeal
Lest my mind should rip apart and I go mad
For the joys now lost that were so glad
The love now gone was my very light
Guiding and directing me in my plight
Yet now I see the empty void and cry out
Upon my knees I do bend and try to shout
Where is this love, what did I do to lose it away
I sit and ponder day in and day upon day
Still the purity of it eludes me and fades dim
Will I ever get the light of love to shine again
Upon my knees I await and hope someday to be
A joyful being for all the world to again see
