A Life Anew

Everyday was the same routine
Hit the alarm clock,
Jump in the shower,
Toss on some eyeliner,
Throw my hair together,
Get dressed,
And slip out the door.
A conformed life of telephones and typing
Go out on Saturday night, just to regret it Sunday
Relive the same bad dream starting again Monday
Then there was you
No clue of where you came from, or how you got here
Not the slightest idea why you stayed
Skeptical at first, yes
But your true intentions shone through
Within and instant it was obvious
Life would never be the same again
And from the dances, to that kiss, to the fights, to the fateful day when you were gone
It hasn't.
