Brave debt

Girl Scouts with pepper spray
A police force that looks away
The forgotten dream of today
Shattered by a loss of unity

The tired work force is drowning
They cry for their offspring
They cry for a lost chance
Hoping things will someday change

Budget cuts and building prisons
Killing schools with wealthy decisions
Screaming teachers and ignored children
Take them away build another prison

Salt water poured on a bleeding cut
Smiling for the American dream
When we fight to kill the debt
Sand paper on our soft skin
This nightmare may never end
The debt is growing larger
The brave and proud build a bigger army.

This is extremely good, I loved the first line in the first stanza! By the way, we don't use pepper spray alot anymore... :)

I like it a lot! Says a lot about the fact WE will be the change... it cannot be done in the current "system". <3
