Long Lost Mom

Why did you leave I'll never know
Your face to me you'll never show
you left and didn't tell me why
you went across country, across the sky.
Mom. . . you left me, and I was three
It wasn't a week later when I met my step mom to-be.

This poem was written by Jake LeClair on Jan 09, 2008.

  1. 4 SUGAR BEAR says:

I know this pain, oh too well... When my mother left, I asked her if I could go to, she declared,"my job is done". that pain ate away at me, until I learned that it had NOTHING to do with me, it was all her stuff...Many years later, we were reunited and I forgave her, because she did not know, what she was truly doing. She knew no different, because she was abandoned when her parents found out she was a pregnant teen. She now realizes, her job will never be done... Keep your chin up Jake, she too, may not know what she truly did and lost. I recommend, finding peace and forgiveness in your heart. ~PEACE OUT

Thanks. My story isn't that sad because I still have contact with her. But I haven't seen her in almost three years. And the divorce happened when I was three. then Ginger (step mom) came in not a week later. And I still don't like her for ruining my mom and dads marriage.

Just so you all know I've never told this to any one. . . is the only thing that keeps me going. I've tried to run from home three times but stopped short of the end of the road.

My mom passed away when I was three. I had so many other people in and out of my life, I can relate to every word you are saying. I often wonder what it would have been like if she hadn't "left me"....it was a different situation, but the ending, very much the same. I wanted to run, but was too scared.....Very nice write...
