Speak Not
Forgive me, lack of sympathy
Reflects hurt within your eyes
Would you lend your empathy
To feel how a lover dies?
Your words a meaning once so pure
Since branded to my ears
For apathy I did endure
I shall never dry your tears
Your intent bore no purity
No ties to hope or pain
Such a hidden insecurity
Made bonds with pride and shame
So please, speak not of what I've done
With such an injured will
For if I were to cut your tongue
How would you love me still?
