Your Heart Stains On My Shoulder
let me preserve you're bleeding heart,
let me clean it up and wash it off.
i will take my time to get it dry
because you've dyed it up to hide your pain.
i've been seeing it in your eyes,
so theres nothing you can say.
because now Ive got your heart's
stains on my shoulder,
and they wont wash out.
since our world is so much colder
this shirt just shows your disappointment in love.
but i did your heart some good,
i placed it back together with the pieces that fell from you.
-
now that its well kept and taintless,
now that Ive placed it back with stitches,
you can be free to hold high again.
give all the thanks you want,
but i'm just being you're friend.
it's my calling to be behind you all the way
and to be there when you have a deficient day.
so always remember this when you're suffering once again,
when you feel failed and frustrated,
pick up the phone,
i'm on the other end.
remember i'm within reach,
so just hold out your hand with your heart
and i'll fix it on up,
because i've already got your hearts stains on my shoulder.
