Last Memories
My life flickers before my eyes
As I lay here on my back
A firm mattress underneath.
Tears of regret spring from my eyes
Knowing that I have left things undone
Words and actions meant to put in action.
Shades of red pass over my eyes
Blood and past angers wash the sight
Finally laid to rest the besotted woes.
Alternate future soars by my eyes
A tale of a happy content family
Husband, wife, two children, no problems.
The cold and numbness covers my eyes
Slowly the life drains from me
Last inaudible breath exhaled, small smile in place.
