The Path
He walked down the street
Looking all around as he went
Noticing and observing the folks.
He saw lies and deceit
There was always something wrong
Everywhere his eyes laid.
He continued down his path
Past people with evil intent
Lurking noticeably in their eyes.
He heard them telling untruths
To those who were too naïve to notice
And they foolishly fell for their ploys.
As he finished walking his path
He reflected on what he had witnessed
“Human nature is as black as my heart”.
He then disappeared without a trace
No wisp of smoke from his departure
The people oblivious to his presence.
