Ordinary Stranger

Lest you think me strange
because I’m staring,
let me try to explain
how your gilded grace
soothes the wounds in my heart
how my spirit longs to expose
its kindred flame.
I want to throw pretty words
like rare gems
at your feet
or cry silent tears of adoring
as I cradle your gentle soul
close to my heart
and make you laugh.
But I am so afraid
you will think mine
such a simple setting
just silver, nothing special
not a fitting complement
to your diamond self
the real thing, perfect love.
Love? Yes, its love.
How could I not love you?
Your strong and splendid spirit
sparkles and shines
among the ordinary rocks,
each facet revealed
is more brilliantly etched
than mere words could describe.
But, I am humbled by you
so I will stay silent,
lest you think me strange.

I love it. I describes the way I feel exactly. A wonderful poem.
