Lone Eagle Screaming

A Lone Eagle screams
from a neighboring field,
it seems
seeing such injustice below.

An un-kept promise here
thousands dead or angry
over There
and no place for the Wolf to go.

Smoke him out, I say
the Truth starts here today
not under some
distant pile of sand.

Cure rotten-ness here at home
before we cast that first stone
its high time that we made
a stand.

Politicians smile and lie
while anguished parents cry
as their children die
on T.V.

How much blood is it worth?
Must we also sacrifice Earth?
And why must we scream
for the Deaf to see?
