Melody of Hearts

There's a special rhythm in my heart
that plays when you're around.
No one else can hear it,
It's my special "loving" sound.

It plays a tender melody
whenever you are near.
Sometimes it sounds so beautiful,
I wish everyone could hear.

It plays "Life, Love, and Laughter"
It plays "Everything is Right"
It plays "I'll be Yours Forever",
But it stopped playing late one night.

My eyes begin to sting with tears
of love felt just for you.
For now you're gone, as is the song,
My heart's an empty tune.

The days are a lonely lifetime
Without "our" music in my heart.
And I can't seem to get it back
now that we are apart.
