Life at the Speed of Thought

If you could look inside my head
You'd see it's quite a mess.
It hasn't had a cleaning,
In over 40 years, I'd guess.

It's cluttered up with memories
I refuse to throw away.
I have to re-live many
Just to get to each new day.

So if I seem a little tired
When you see me passing by,
It's because I've lived a lifetime
In that moment, I said "Hi".
