My Never Ending Fight

Staring into darkness
No sleeping through the night
Sleep-walking through the day
It's my never ending fight.

Eyes that ache with pain
Stomach tied in knots
Heart is racing fast
Images not forgot

Night time lives the day
Memories just won't fade
I see your loving face
In every second I'm awake.

Yellow car surrounds the tree.
Glass is scattered everywhere.
Pools of blood along the road.
Oh God, my son is trapped in there!

There will never be a moment
I won't see the flashing lights.
I will hear the siren's screams,
Every day and every night.

I will wonder if you heard me,
As I cried and screamed your name...
Did your last breath call to me?
Am I the one to blame?

Staring into darkness
No sleeping through the night
Sleep-walking through the day
It's my never ending fight.
