Listen

Listen to what I say,
These words are not alone.
Strung together sentences bring the truth back home.
I don’t care how you feel,
Don’t pretend you do
Don’t you know
I’m not as naïve and insecure as you

I’m ‘bout to go away
No battles to be won.
I think you’ll agree,
We were over before it begun

And you could say what you say
Yea, you can say I’ve found my home.
Why is it so wrong
That I’m better off on my own

I know you’ll be fine and this was no accident
It is what it is meant to be
That’s what I’ve learned…
