Haunted

Tears travel
Their path down my face
And drop
Soundlessly upon my pillow
Sadness spills
Itself from my body
Through eyes
Wearily awaiting the passing of the tide
Memories evoke
Moments of weakness
When only time
Can dull the stabbing pain
Remembrance tears
It's way through my heart
Ripping open scars
So carefully mended
Your face
Haunts my dreams
Laughing all the while
I'm sent tumbling through a slice of hell
My fist
Pounds violently upon my pillow
Giving me strength
To strip myself from your grip
I'm held captive
By your darkness
My own mind
A prison chaining me to you
