Angel Boys

I check you when you sleep
Your precious innocence
More obvious
With every breath you take
Your hand twitches
I'm quiet for a moment
While your little body stills
Back into restful sleep
I can't help myself
My hands are pulled
Your tiny cheek
The magnet
I cannot resist the moment
One peaceful moment
To touch your face and whisper
My love for you
My heart hurts briefly
As the thought crosses my mind
One day you'll be grown
And my nighttime visits lost with the years
Before I go I kiss your cheek
My angel boys
May sweet dreams make you smile
While you sleep away in peace
Leaving your room
A tear forms
Willing these precious moments
To stop time
