A Step into the Dark
From where I stand, my head hung low
Looking at the ground and not the path I walk
Is there anywhere that I would be headed to anyway?
Arms reach up and wrap my head
Ensnared by the hope that’s inflicted my mind
Why trust in chances when trust is only made of faith?
I still do. I let my feet trudge on
Without a thought to care whether I stumble
I fall, then, I fall. Hope reaches out and pulls me up and why?
Who says I wanted to be lifted
Left to rest in peace watching the clouds drift by
Was there something ahead that I would have walked for?
Take me. Guide me hand.
Force me with your will. I am under your control.
Where will you take me, is this really it, Fate?
Pulled forward by a thread of hope into the dark…
…with my head still hung low.
