Goes With The Night
Have you ever had a meal
With something added to the flavor?
Was the food that you read in the menu,
Worth all that you had on your plate?
Everything that was given, was it all that you expected?
Is it something that you anticipated?
Or was it something that was given a disappointment?
“Chorus”
Life,
Has its meals
It is given to us,
Like a surprise
But we as people
Look toward our lives as perfect suppers
We need to understand something
Why do we expect so much, and get so little?
This question comes to a conclusion
Because everything goes, with the night
Verse II
How are you two?
Is your lives full of love?
A wonderful, walk in the park
Full of laughter, and full of youth
Or, is it pain
A sick twisted, movie scene
Both your eyes have been so deceived
Well what then?
Work it, or throw it away?
“Chorus”
Verse III
Our minds, they are unique
One’s thought, brings many doors to open
Walk through, and a few doors then close
Then you decide…
What a mistake!
You run back,
You see that you can’t go back
You then look at what was given to you
Doors that are open already for you
You look and find the once beautiful rose
That then pricked you and now the thorn is exposed
Finally, you slam the door
We learn
“Chorus”
Verse IV
We think sometimes it’s a walking jinx
When we have a bad day,
It all comes at you at once
We might need to think of an escape
Which isn’t the ultimate revenge
Or a simple slit of the wrist
We find a new door
We find a new menu
We find a new love
We find a new adventure
Because when we realize
After we face the surprise
Everything goes, with the night
