love

You say 1 thing then change your mind
You’re not the only choice
You think you’re the best that I can find
But listen to my voice
You’re losing me with your fickle ways
I can't wait for life
You watch me fade into the days
And pierce me like a knife
I wish I could be with you
But the thought of that fades
I can’t imagine giving up all the memories we made
I wish things could be easy though they never seem to be
Togetherness seems so right at least to you and me
I miss you and am sure that you miss me too
Losing you is not something I‘m strong enough to do
Oh why oh why have you cast this awful spell
I want to forget I want to move on
But it seems in love I’ve fell.

Your poem evokes two distinct emotions, confusion and an unwillingness to be walked over. Appearing to fall in love is not very decisive (last two lines). Your poetry can become more Elizabeth Browning (my version of poetic sincerity) if you give yourself to your feeling rather than trying to unravel it. Sappho is probably the closest one can come to emotional sincerity. Compare and see what I mean. Good writing, you have a potential for great poetic sensibility. Aim to get journal published.

    LaLa La,

Your writing expresses true emotion. I have experienced these emotions, first hand, and it hurts. What you are doing, writing your thoughts and feelings through words, you are releasing those emotions in a healthy, creative and inspiring manor. This method will strengthen and sharpen your skills, with possessing poetic translations that will intrigue and inspire many.
For myself, having had those feelings and experiences, I have learned many lessons the hard way. Too often, words are used as just words, rather than true feeling... to get what one wants, regardless of the emotional cost. Love is not control. It has taken me longer to discover that one.
Believe it or not, you are stronger than you think- more than he'd like to think. Once you realize and accept that truth, then your strength and independence will shine and most likely he will regret underestimating your many gifts, especially the LOVE you were so willing to share in this life with him. Trust me.... I have heard the same stinking thinking-no one will love you and put up with you better than I... Indeed there is.... if not here on earth... most definately in Heaven. I have learned there are different measures of LOVE.
Philio- love of friends, love of a candy bar
Eros-love of pleasure, most popular in U.S.
Agape- Strongest Love, love that is spiritual &
selfless in nature. LOVE for/from God
Try these measures of love on for size and see
where Mr. wonderful measures up/or doesn't...
It does get better, I'm still climbing up myself. They say, you can't be on the top of the mountain, until you have been in the valley. Keep up the good work.
