I Can't
I can’t imagine love in full bloom I don't even know something close
I can't see being so connected to someone that matters in my heart most
There’s the love of a mother, the love of a child
But I imagine something less tame
I see being watched with caring eye as if achieving fame
Thought I write what I feel and the feelings that come near
I can say falling in love is something I fear
What if things don't go as planed?
What if he leaves
What if he is simply not the person I perceived?
What if my heart cracks in two and I am ruined for all of life
What if repeated breaks leave me in misery and strife?
Heartbreaks are unavoidable and may cut deep
But my open heart is not something to myself I plan to keep
The risks may be high
And hard the bypass
But it’s all worth while when you form something that lasts
Although fear is often hard to over come
This fear must be left or my future looks glum
Fore what would my life be like if it was love free
That is a future that I find hard to see
There is so much care and trust to gain
And once that builds
And starts to fill
I'm sure love is all that will remain
