Where does Love go to die?

My soul curled into itself to find comfort in its grief,
to find itself in what it had lost when it stared in disbelief
into eyes that took no longer comfort in its warmer days
when it once counted all the numerous ways
it loved, adored you, worshipped at your feet
soaring when it looked at your blessed face to complete
its recognition of the beauty it found within you.

Where does Love go to die?
Does it crawl into the solitude of despair,
or does it merely wander off into the air
to become part of nothingness we know exists but never see?

Where does Love go to die?
Does it surrender itself with every sigh,
as part of nothing of which it was a trifling part
or does it merely return to the heart
from whence it came
or does it always remain the same
in strength and intensity
slowly dying with age’s fading memory?

Where does love go to die?
Does it break with every reply
it should have returned or remembered
or does it reflect the darkness it once dismembered
in those moments when it breathed spirited light?
Ask me not whence Love travels once it dies
For it breathes the same air animating all softly spoken lies.
Ask me not where love travels to die
Or of the beauty it surrenders to the infinite darkness of night
when it proves itself less than right.

Thank you for your comment. I do not know if it is deep, I just hope others find connection with it and join me in trying to be human.
