The Root
Will we live like this forever?
Always fleeing from injustice
We fight murder with the sword
And violence with an axe
Everybody hears about it in the news
These sinful ways of dominance
Our fight for control at something unstable
It tilts and sways, tottering at the edge of a cliff
Everybody is at the top pushing and pulling
Nobody is there to catch it when it falls
So now I take my stand!
I find myself another path
That leads me to the root of our problem
I call my family, I call my friends
To join me at the heart and soul
To fight that we cant control
We stand there waiting in a peaceful stance
No swords, no axes, only hope
