Tingle
A tingle, a small feeling
Then the door opens and you step inside
My breathing, it slows
My heartbeat becomes so loud
A wave of warmth spreads from my center
Lighting me with joy
I reach out and hug you
Holding you close
I don't want to let go
But when you pull I stop
And let you free
I realize I have stopped breathing
And pull in a quick gasp
Your smell, so undescribable
It floods into my nose
I breathe in deep
Not wasting any of this gift
You laugh and joke
PUll and tease
Give me your smile
That which makes me
Feel so damn good
As the pain disappears
I know there may never be
A thing such as you and me
But I still get up every day
Thinking there might be a way
That I can pull you in
And have you feel that I have felt
That you may look into my eyes
And see a future in them
That I may reach for your hand
And find your welcoming fingers
so I may move in for that kiss...
To find your lips already attached
Until that I day, I continue to pray
Asking God to help you on your way
I hold onto that feeling
That sense of you being here
Standing next to me...
Holding me up, holding me strong
