Blue Blood (Free Blood)
The blood is running, racing down the hills of blue
I am lost, this isn't what I was meant to do
Yet I hold my rifle with a solid grip
And when my target's eyes are met let my bullets rip
But lately I've noticed my shaking hands
As I use them they shout their own treacherous demands
I continue to murder all who oppose
Wondering the results if a new leader rose
And finally my eye can't focus any longer
Through this weakness I know I've grown stronger
I place my gun in the welcoming ground
And in the midst of battle I turn around
My captain was the first to see
And he reached out to stop me
His eyes met mine and there they stayed
Bullets blazed left and right but neither swayed
A new battle had rose, this one from the heart
My sorrows flooded him like poison from a dart
And finally his gun did fall
No words were needed, none at all
He yelled his order to each disarm
Helpless we were, but yet free of harm
Though we halted our bodies still fell
And through this death we were free of hell
