Look
Look past these blackened eyes of coal
Reach deep and touch the broken soul
Dry the tears of blood that stain this face
Take this girl to a better place
Look past the scars that mark this arm
Look past the other self inflicted harm
Try not to see the skin painted black and blue
Forget the pain that she has been through
Look past the heart in pieces on the ground
Shut your ears to the crying sound
Close your eyes so you won’t see
Her life full of misery
Look past the the clothes that have been torn
For this girl you should not mourn
