The Screams Do Echo
Pain imprinted on dusk colored walls
Screams in vein, echo through these halls
Walking down the never ending corridor
Red blood stains on crisp white floor
And you can still hear them screaming
The torture in the air still lingering
This empty house holds so much inside
No one would ever know what the walls did hide
You can hear voices pleading
Visions of people bleeding
No mercy here
Only fear
You can almost taste the sadness
Much worse you can see the madness
No where to run, no where to hide
Only the lost souls, here do they reside
Running and falling
Broken and crawling
Lost in the dark and so lonely
Only blackness there to see
Warm tears stream down a frightened face
And puddle into empty space
Into black emptiness they will seep
Down to the floor like dead angels they will sleep
All is hopeless, there’s no more out there
And it’s far beyond too much to bear

Why thank you very much. I haven't written much of this dark poetry in awhile, glad to know I've still got it. Sadly the rhyme scheme was a bit simple, it might have been better with a more complex rhyme, but I soon grew tired with it, in the end I'd just wanted it finished. I really appreciate the feedback. Thanks a lot Jeanne.
I love this classic style of rhythmic poetry. This is a great visually dark poem - another genre I admire. Good job on this, Ryven!
