A Sad Song
The world is falling
Crumbling before our very eyes
The sky is gray
With polluted skies
The birds are choking
On the notes they sing
The stars dying and there is no light
The earth is crumbling and wont last through this night
In the distance a baby cries
Not a soul but I
Can hear this saddened
Child’s cry
No one is speaking, all life is still
The silence is crushing enough to kill
They’ve all lost their strong will
It’s too late we’ve reaped our fill
The people cower in the shadow
Unable to overcome
The mess they’ve created
Can’t be recovered from
There is no looking ahead
The earth is stained with crimson red
Walking through the rubble, not a path clear that we can tread
Stumbling over bodies long dead
What we did
We watched everything fall
The moment passed
And we attempt to remember nothing at all
The skies, the earth, the sea, even we start to fade
We watch with empty eyes, at the disaster we’ve made
There we stood humble and afraid
To rest, all is laid
