the good ol' days.
Do you remember the good ol' days?
I really do remember when I used to say
that nothing would tear us apart
but when that day came when I had to depart
we were sad, even in tears
but over the years
I've grown accustomed to my mothers ways
to all of those sorrowful days
that she has brought upon me
for we have moved from place to place many times
it is difficult at times to remember the good ol' days
back when we were youngsters
not knowing what lays ahead
I have found myself
more often than not
looking back to see our playful faces
laughing, crying, and angry that someone took our crackers
don't you remember the good ol' days?
no drama, no swears, no worries
just sitting back and thinking of our futures
our jobs, even our husbands and wives
those little first grade loves will
live on in our memories, forever
Don't you remember the good ol' days?
