the dead tree

the tree stands
dead...lifeless...yet with an echo of form.
there is hope for life.
when is unknown.

is it not right to dream, to live,
experience growth?
to sway in the breeze,
shedding old leaves.

can't it be nurtured
and brought back to life?
why shouldn't the sun warm it...
and the rain make it whole?

it needs renewal in endless ways.
we must not let it fade away
because
the tree still stands.

Hi Victoria, when I saw the volume of material you've submitted I knew I had to start reading them. This one is good. "Needs renewal in endless ways." Great line. We all need renewal.
