Bio

I have been writing since the fourth grade. About the seventh grade I began to write poetry and prose to handle the severe bouts of depression that I felt to ashamed to get help to manage.

I met a guy when I was 16 and put all emphasis on him and his world and lost myself in the process.
I have continued to write over the years but it came in fits and spurts. Now at almost 26 years old, I am pursuing my dreams and happiness by writing and critiquing. I have made my one and only goal of 2007 to be to attend as many poetry readings and art showings that work and school will allow me to.
I have also made a conscious effort to expose my children to as many books, art, poetry as possible on a daily basis.
I have joined my neighborhood association and formed a young womens group where we learn to journal and express ourselves in word to work through peer pressure and self esteem issues. I am quite proud of my accomplishments thus far and I hope to take this group a bit further than my neighborhood.
