I Want To Love You Over

In the moment, the heat
filled with passion, with desire
I have said, "I love you."
And that's not always
been enough

And we've loved in dwelling, the quiet
filled with errands, motes of dust
when I've said nothing
And that's been fine

I would have smiled
at you
had I known the future
of that car ride
paying attention only to the motion
in the glass that bright day
you reading your latest passion
Us traveling to adventures
and some pain

Then, I said, "I love you."
But today I say "I would love you over."
I would pass through, once again,
that day
that drive
that quiet
that choice
And I would love you over.
