International Poetry Festival
I have lived in San Francisco for almost 1 year now. During this time I have had the opportunity to meet some amazing, talented, and fascinating poets. San Francisco has always beek known for the arts and amazing poetry. That being said, I am very excited for the International Poetry Festival here in San Francisco. I will make sure to write about my experience and take a ton of pictures. If anybody would like to go, it is Free and there are plenty of events. The link to the site for the festival is pasted below, so feel free to copy and paste that into your browser and meet me at some of the events.

Honestly, I wish I can go...Though I must say that I would if I could. Considering some poetry sites that I visited give you an offer to some poetry convention, which you have to pay big bucks for a ticket. Granted that you are eligible and nominated to win their grand prize.
This blog is definitely nothing of that kind and I just wanted to say thanks for the offer.
Yes, this is free, we wont try to pretend that anybody is nominated for huge cash prizes or anything!!! We would never try to scam our poets like some other sites may do... Check the scam blog for more details!
Ahh I wish I could but a bit to far away for me...
damn im only 13 i cant do nothing
I would like to vent a spleen. I was on a website on which I had poetry posted. I was sent a bunch of mails and post in which I was informed that I was going to be read at San Francisco. I then received a contrary mail saying that i was too stupid to be published and a bunch of subsequent mails telling me to buy stuff or suffer eternal obscurity. I left it with the enthusiasm of breaking a bad habit thinking that was that. i had been duped and did not sink any money into getting published with these great Satans. I went onto the site but five minutes ago and searched my poetry in the hope that they may have removed it. Instead my poems have been hyperlinked to adverts for car alarms and vibrating back massagers, at least that is what they look like, and there is no way for me to get my stuff back even though they said I retain copyright. I have become a puke salesman and a snakeoil vendor without my consent. Poetry people, stay off their wretched site, their commercialised hype world of cheap scams and scumbag business practises. I know something must earn the cash to keep their website open but their tasteless and crass merchandising practices reek of exploitative backstabbery. STAY AWAY FROM POETRY.COM - they are cheap and nasty and equate poetic craftsmanship with webfetti. May halitosis and dandruff follow them for all their days. May pretty girls laugh at them, may they suffer the heartbreak of psoriasis until they get angioplasties administered through the rectum without painkillers. Spleen vented. Thank you all.
