Winter Is here

So, I am sitting here at my desk looking out the window to rain and dark skies. The rain forces me to stay inside and be productive because I am like a cat and am not a huge fan of water. That being said, I have noticed many new authors and poems being posted on this site. I want to believe that there is a correlation between the weather and people writing. I do not think that the sole reason is because the winter makes people more productive. I would argue that taken as a whole, the winter has characteristics that make us write.

I hope to read some great poetry and community articles this winter.

Stay dry and have a fun and safe winter

I agree, i think it could be because there is so much to feel in the winter, be it love from the holidays and being close to fam. or be it not have fam. and being trapped inside, and feeling that cold, feeling that darkness. Ah how the weather affects us.

Here in sunny Florida, we have no winter to speak of, but put me on a boat and under a sky full of stars, I can write. It supposedly has the same tranquil effect as winter. I hope that someday, I will do great things with my poetry. Thank you for all of your support and great ideas.

I hear ya Bob, I too wrote about "WINTER DAZE", trying to complete a full seasonal collection, with only a summer blaze to create. Well, it's been an all nighter, Adios,

Hi Bob, I just found your site christmas eve, I did not know there was a place to share poetry, but am really enjoying it now. I live in Alberta, Can. and woke up this morning to -27c with a light wind, so you could call this cold. I do feel I write more in winter, but my writing also goes along with my job, so when I'm at work I write, when I'm home on days off I don't. I lived in Papua New Guinea for 7 years and have been to Florida and they compare in weather, I'd rather be warm.
