Just for the record, I have no problem with people screening my writing prior to releasing my work to the public. My question is - why don't these parade of "behind-the-scenes" people don't comment on the works they sees? Are they not entitled to an opinion?

Are you talking about our process for approving poems? The reasoning for this is two fold:

1. Ensure no spam gets on the site (human filters are the best)
2. Ensure people are not posting blatant copyright infrigments

It's not a perfect system, but it's a way to make sure we have real poems. We don't always read the whole poem (more like glance over it), so we don't always comment on it.

these people do comment on poetry... The people that work for Poetry with meaning are always searching through the poems reading, rating, and commenting... They have the exact same account as you have so they get the same experience as you get. They dont comment before they approve because they cant, as I said, they have the same account as you have, the only difference is that they have an administrative password to look at the back-end. The Poetry with meaning crew is always searching all over the site to ensure a creative, fun, and safe experience..

Thank you for your concern!! Let us know what more we can do for you to enhance your experience!

There should be more administrative personnel. That is, if they wish to continue to gain members and keep current members, they should increase personnel so that the screening process may become more efficient. I'm unaware of what the current wait time is, but I've posted 29 poems and not a single one has been approved. Most "enter these digits and letters as they appear," bot stoppers (for a lack of better term) are fairly effective.

I understand that copyright infringements are also a big thing, but even if you screen ever poem, there is NOT a single chance that a person can be familiar with every other poem, especially not which ones have and don;t have copyrights attached at the current time.

I suggest that you SWITCH to the normal mode for stopping bots, and FLAG new material. letting it be seen by the general public, and commented upon, but the flag allows admins to know it has not yet been screened, so they may screen it.

Also, a "report this poem/author function would be beneficial, I did not notice one in my stay here. this would cut down on the strain of those needing to screen work, as it would allow the "general public" to point you towards the more blatantly offensive poems. Offensive here meaning, unfit to be posted.

hope the input helps.

the screening process is fine to me
I am willing to wait
I have posted 66 poems
and about 58 of them were in one night
only took about 2 days to get all of them through
