Dude, that is an easy one - early John Keats. Grossly overrated. later stuff was better, more mature.
personally, the most overrated poets are probably pop stars or their writers.
Beatles had some good stuff - "I want to hold your hand, and when you touch me i feel happy inside"
Masterly!
Can only be considered highbrow to peeps who sing about ho's, pimping, bling and getting freakers on. there is nothing worse than the potential of improper freakage. i can only imagine that it can be painful getting up into a grill, especially if it belongs to a fast moving Oshkosh.

Who are you not impressed by? I know that I read some poetry and think to myself... how is this so popular?

Keats is overrated and guess who else is.... Langston Hughes
Yeah he wrote a couple good ones but he can't write anything better than Dr. Suess. I know im bein a jerk but im not going to think he's cool just because he's a black poet.

Langston Hughes is nowhere over rated, and it was not just simply beacuase he was a black poet either. He ushered in a whole new era/style of poetry thats what made him great. His unique rythm and essence in the directory of his words made him the legendary poet he is.

I rather like Keats begining stuff...you can see him working out his own voice through the techniques of others. It's where we all start.
